"Are we really so lazy that we refuse to turn off the lights at night when we go to bed?" was the question that led me to ask myself in 2013, and as a result I was NOT sucked into the world of smart homes.

However, as I was getting more and more involved, I couldn't help but learn more about how smart homes work. After delving deeper into the subject, my "engineer-self" took over and I realised that a well-built smart home is not smart just because you use your phone to turn on the lights or a designer display to show the humidity in the living room. My eyes lit up at the potential of efficiency and energy management, and I was up to my neck in smart homes.

Why did this give me that 'aha' moment? I've been involved in process optimisation, efficiency improvement and quality assurance for over 10 years, so I try to apply process improvement and time management methods (often unconsciously) when building smart home routines. I believe that a technology can help us (whether it is industrial automation or the development of a weekday morning routine) if the process we are applying it to is sound, we know what we are doing and it is clear to us what the added value is of automating it (and in any case the end result will be no worse than before). This is what I saw in smart homes at the time and a new world opened up for me.

After the installation training started, I saw this potential not only in the smart homes, but also in the installation process itself. In the meantime, we increasingly saw that the vast majority of our customers not only needed professional development in the smart home field, they also needed help to build their business from the ground up, and to have someone to turn to after the training was completed, so that they were not left to sink in the deep end alone. This is the rationale behind the need to redesign the training and develop a programme that not only provides a full range of professional knowledge, but also produces a full set of competent installers."

Viszont - mivel már egyre inkább benne éltem - nem úsztam meg, hogy mélyebben meg ne ismerjem az okosotthonok működését. Felcsillant a szemem a hatékonyságban és az energiagazdálkodásban rejlő lehetőségekre, és így már én is nyakig benne voltam az okosotthon témában.

Miért ez váltotta ki belőlem azt a bizonyos „aha” pillanatot? Több, mint 10 éve foglalkozom folyamatoptimalizálással, hatékonyságnöveléssel és minőségbiztosítással, így a folyamatfejlesztési és időgazdálkodási módszereket (sokszor tudat alatt is) igyekszem az okosotthon rutinok kiépítésekor alkalmazni. Azt gondolom, akkor tud egy technológia a segítségünkre lenni (legyen szó akár ipari automatizációról, akár a hétköznap reggeli rutin kialakításáról), ha a folyamat, amelyen alkalmazzuk, rendben van, tudjuk, hogy mit miért csinálunk, és egyértelmű számunkra, hogy milyen hozzáadott értéke van annak, ha automatizálunk (és semmiképp sem lesz a végeredmény rosszabb, mint előtte volt). Ezt a lehetőséget láttam meg akkor az okosotthonokban, és egy új világ nyílt ki számomra.

A telepítő képzés elindítása után már nemcsak az okosotthonokban láttam ezt a potenciált, hanem magában a telepítési folyamatban is. Mindeközben egyre inkább azt láttuk, hogy az ügyfeleink túlnyomó többségének nemcsak szakmai fejlesztésre van az okosotthonok terén. Segítségre van szükségük abban is, hogy az alapoktól fel tudják építeni a vállalkozásukat, és a képzés elvégzése után is legyen kihez fordulniuk, és ne süllyedjenek el egyedül a mély vízben. Ez adta az alapgondolatot ahhoz, hogy a képzést átalakítsuk, és egy olyan programot dolgozzuk ki, amely nemcsak teljeskörű szakmai tudást ad, hanem amelyből teljesértékű telepítők kerülnek ki."
